EQUALITY for Peace and Development (EPD) helped to establish a Women Parliamentarian Resource Center within the Parliament premises to assist female parliamentarians with the necessary resources and to exchange best practices from other countries. The resource center is equipped with a variety of facilities such as Internet, printing, copying and an information desk. The center also provides training on Internet usage and assistance with online research.
EPD also established a civil society corner and resource center, which functions as a hub for members of the parliament. In addition, EPD is providing training to female members of provincial councils on coalition building, monitoring mechanisms, good governance, gender mainstreaming and women empowerment.
The Center has been handed over to the General Secretariat of Parliament and the trainings were successfully delivered to provincial council members, fostering women’s access to information and building a sustainable network of female MPs.
