PWN Membership Form

EQUALITY for Peace and Development (EPD) established the Provincial Women’s Network (formerly the Gender Equality Platform) in 2012 for creating a platform and bringing women leaders from different walks of life (parliament, provincial council, government, civil society, private sector, media and academia) together for networking, coalition building, monitoring women advancement and carrying joint advocacies.

Throughout 2011 and 2012 PWN was carrying out quite different sessions of advocacies, providing training to women in 34 provinces and arranging national women’s conferences around different issues. In the beginning of 2013, EPD managed to establish this women’s network in six other provinces (Kandahar, Nangarhar, Herat, Bamyan, Kunduz, Faryab and Bagrami District of Kabul Province).

Mission:
To establish a coordination mechanism between women from all other fields who are working for women’s empowerment.

Objectives:

  • To organize regular networking and coordination meetings for women from all sectors with parliamentarians.
  •  To champion women’s rights in the Parliament in collaboration with civil society organizations and women from different sectors.
  • To link female MPs with their constituents for development and policy advice.
  •  To develop and implement joint advocacy initiatives for women empowerment in all branches of government.
  •  To ensure that public laws and legislations are gender sensitized.
  •  To increase women participation in high and middle level management layers of state institutions.
