EPDO believes human rights are universal, inalienable, indivisible, and interdependent and affirms all human beings are born with equal and non-discriminatory rights and dignity regardless of race, color, sex, language, religion, political or another opinion, national or social origin, property, disability, birth, age, ethnicity, and creed or another status.

Therefore, EPDO takes a human rights-based approach to its work. Our programs aim to empower the people of Afghanistan to know and exercise their rights as Afghan citizens. Through this central portfolio, EPDO leads and coordinates efforts securing commitments to gender equality and mainstreaming translate into actions throughout the country and all spheres of life.
